Chris Welland is the Head of Citi’s recently created CTO Policy, Innovation Enablement, and Strategy organization. This group brings together Citi expertise in technology and digital strategy, policy and standards, as well as innovation to create an integrated model for these critical areas.
Based in London, Chris has undertaken a wide range of roles across Citi over the course of a 25-year career with the firm including leading large Engineering and Operations teams across both infrastructure and application development functions and leading front-office engagements of Citi with our clients. He holds a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Kent in the UK, lives in Winchester in the south of England with his wife and two children. When not working, Chris loves nothing more than hanging off the side of a mountain having trekked up both Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and Mt Toubkal in Morocco over the last few years along with completing the UK 3-Peaks challenge three times, raising money for a variety of charities.
