Women in AI – Perspektywy Women in Tech Summit 2022

Top 100 Women in AI in Poland

Artificial intelligence is already accompanying us practically at every step (Internet of Things, medtech, fintech, biometric solutions, etc.) and its importance will only increase. According to research (e.g., the PARP report titled Monitoring of Trends in Innovation), only Poland might need 200 thousand IT workers specialising in AI by 2025. If artificial intelligence is to be useful for all, if it is to answer various needs and challenges, the most diverse teams should work on it. We must make sure that the current gender disproportion among AI specialists – today not even 13 percent of employees dealing with AI in Poland today are women today (the Artificial Intelligence in Poland – AI Experts Competencies, report Digital Poland 2020) changes. 

Therefore, at the Perspektywy Education Foundation, we decided to act. We have acknowledged and wish to promote women whose professional work involves taking up challenges related to the AI technology. This way, we hope to inspire the younger generation with notable role models, as there is no shortage of them, even in the strongly male-dominated area. This is what inspired the idea of TOP100 Woman in AI – a list of notable Polish women from the AI area. From this list the committee, chaired by Professor Aleksandra Przegalińska, will select the Top of the Top, i.e., the 10 most prominent female AI experts in Poland, whi will receive the Excellence in AI Awards. We will meet them during the Perspektywy Women in Tech Summit 2022 (7–8 June) – Europe’s biggest conference for women in technology.
