Lucia Mascotelli

Lucia Mascotelli is a laboratory engineer in the R&D Food Preparation department of Electrolux, where she focuses on the computational approach of the development and design of domestic appliances. In this way she can exploit her background in aerospace engineering and her PhD in fluid dynamics, since the optimization of the flow patterns and the thermal exchange have a great impact on the energy consumption and the sustainability of the household appliances.

Additionally, Lucia is actively engaged in gender equality, being the co-founder of the association “She is a scientist”, for a more respectful narrative of the contributions of women in scientific fields, “Monnalisa collettivo”, a collective committed to raise awareness on the wide variety of discriminations, and she is the president of the Italian e-club of Zonta, an international association to empower women through advocacy.
