Jolanta Niedźwiecka

Environmental microbiologist and engineer, Jolanta was awarded a Fulbright fellowship to pursue a PhD in Environmental Engineering at Clemson University in the United States. Her research addressed the biodegradation of organic pollutants using naturally occurring soil redox reactions. Postdoctoral research at the University of South Bohemia in the Czech Republic focused on carbon cycling in forest soil under different aeration and geochemical conditions. She taught water and wastewater treatment technology at the Military University of Technology in Warsaw. Currently, Jolanta supervises laboratory operations as Laboratory Manager at Akademeia High School, Warsaw.

Jolanta likes to discover the surrounding world not only scientifically, but also by travelling. She enjoys learning about the origins of cultural differences and identity. Recently, she became interested in the science of healthy dieting and how different foods can affect the wellbeing of the human body and soul.
