Elizabeth Tchoungui

Born in the United States, Elizabeth Tchoungui grew up in Cameroon, Belgium and Italy. A graduate of the Lille School of Journalism, presenter for France 2 (France Televisions Group), and RMC STORY (Altice Group), she was the first African female journalist to host the daily news show on TV5 Monde, and the first woman, after Bernard Pivot, Guillaume Durand and Franz-Olivier Giesbert, to present the prime-time weekly cultural talk show on France 2. She also headed the culture department of France 24.
Elizabeth Tchoungui has written several books including: The day you were born a second time (Flammarion), her account of her son’s autism, Je vous souhaite la pluie (Plon), translated into Italian and taught in schools and universities in Cameroon, "Bamako Climax" (Plon), set against the backdrop of terrorism in the Sahel region, and Billets d'Humeur au féminin (Léo Scheer), from a collection of articles and short stories on the aufeminin.com website. She works regularly with the International Organisation of la Francophonie. She is also a member of the parliament of French women writers.
Elizabeth Tchoungui chairs the ethics committee for Action Against Hunger. Since its creation in 1979, it has become the leading international NGO, providing a coordinated response to the most vulnerable populations in nearly 50 countries.
She is also on the board of the Club XXIè Siècle, a think and do tank promoting diversity through excellence and exemplary courses.
Elizabeth Tchoungui is a Chevalier des Arts et Lettres.
On 1 September 2020, Elisabeth Tchoungui was appointed Executive Director CSR, Diversity and Philanthropy. In particular, she is in charge of Orange’s Social Responsibility policy in line with the objectives of the Engage2025 strategic plan. She also holds the position of Deputy Chair for the Orange Foundation.
