With over 25 years of hands-on software development experience, combined with two years’ experience leading development teams, Catherine Armstrong, Principal Engineer for Sportradar’s Sports Media group, is passionate about enabling developers to deliver the most trusted, reliable sports data services to engage and captivate fans.
Catherine and team build and support applications delivering RESTful API and streaming services for consumers of US sports data. Applications include front-end web apps, backend database management, message queueing, statistical calculations, and version templating.
Catherine’s achievements in Sportradar include deploying their first full stack system to run on Kubernetes, including putting control of deployments in the hands of developers by implementing non-shared transient environments for stakeholder validation of features, and implementing automated testing and code linting. She has particularly enjoyed collaborating with Major League Baseball (MLB) teams to support Sportradar’s partnership with the league.
